Nurses
Our practice nurses provide a wide range of services including immunisations, family planning checks, cervical smears, ear syringing, minor injuries, first aid, travel and general health advice. Chronic disease management is also provided for patients with diabetes, heart disease, stroke, asthma, COPD or hypertension.
If you have one of these diseases we offer regular monitoring consultations with nurses specially trained in those fields. You will be sent a letter inviting you to attend for a thorough health check and lifestyle advice. We advise patients to take up these appointments even if they are regularly seeing a GP.
Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
Practice Management
Marcia Thomarel
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Reception
Our receptionists are fully trained to help you make best use of our service. Please treat them courteously and be patient if you are kept waiting. Sometimes receptionists need to ask questions to find out how urgent your problem is. This helps them to help you.
Community Nurses
The nurses look after people confined to their homes. You can contact them by phoning 01202 859641. If they are out of the office please leave a clear message.
