Clinics

In addition to GP consultations the practice offers a comprehensive range of clinics and healthcare services:

Chronic Disease Management

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Hypertension

If you have one of these diseases we offer regular monitoring consultations with nurses specially trained in those fields. You will be sent a letter inviting you to attend for a thorough health check and lifestyle advice. We advise patients to take up these appointments even if they are regularly seeing a GP.

Blood Tests

These are available each morning, by appointment with our phlebotomist at the practice. Alternatively you can attend the Pathology Department at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital between 9.00am and 4.00pm on a week day without appointment.

Cervical Smears

We operate an automatic recall system and all eligible women should receive a reminder when they are due for a smear. If you are concerned about having a smear please talk to your doctor.

Minor Surgery

Various minor operations may be undertaken within the surgery. This will need to be discussed with your GP initially and an appointment for the procedure will usually be offered within a week or two.

Contraception

All GPs in the practice can offer help with contraception including prescribing the pill and also fitting coils (IUDs)

Child health and Immunisations

All new babies are invited for regular check-ups and offered the recommended schedule of immunisations by appointment. An open access clinic for queries about your baby's health is available on Tuesdays 9.30am to 10.30am at Muscliffe Primary School, staffed by the health visitors. Please see the NHS Child Vaccination Schedule

General Nursing Services

Including ear syringing, minor injuries, first aid and general health advice.

Travel Immunisations

Please complete a travel form (available from reception or to download below) if you are querying about immunisations and malaria treatment for travel abroad. You will be offered an appointment to provide the recommended regimes. In some cases these items are not available under the NHS and you will be advised of the charges.

You may need travel vaccinations and health advice, depending on where you are visiting. To help us advise you on the protection you may need please complete the Travel Health Questionnaire below at least 8 weeks before departure date, if within 8 weeks we will not be able to provide all appointments required for your Travel Vaccinations, and therefore may need to attend a local private clinic and pay their fees.

Travel Health Questionnaire (DOCX, 20KB)

Each traveller will need to book a 20 minute appointment.

Stopping Smoking

Please ask if you would like help with giving up.
