Important: Important Notice
Starting 6th January 2025, our practice will introduce a new way for patients to book GP appointments using the Systmconnect: Start Online Consultation with SystmConnect here. Once the form is submitted, a doctor will review your request and decide the best course of action. Patients will then be contacted by the practice. This system is designed to be quicker and easier than waiting on hold for a receptionist. All requests will be reviewed by a doctor, ensuring safe and appropriate care.
- Urgent medical requests will be prioritised and contacted on the same day, please submit urgent requests before 10:00am if possible.
- For patients without internet access, our reception team will be able to help you.
- The service is available between 6:00am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday.
- No login required, just select the most appropriate box under Medical request or Admin request, then submit your request.
- For Nurse appointments – please call the practice as usual.
Many self-limiting minor ailments that you have for less than 48 hours will get better on their own. Pharmacies can offer advice and over the counter medications to relieve symptoms of coughs and colds and minor injuries. By only contacting us when you really need us allows us to prioritise appointments for those who really need one.
Important: High Demand for Appointments
We’re currently experiencing much higher demand for GP appointments than we can accommodate. Please consider using the Health Information and Support section on our website, for advice, including an A to Z of Medicines, Self-Help, and links to other services. You can also speak with a pharmacist for advice.
Please be reassured you will be seen face to face if necessary following initial phone contact with a GP.
We do not tolerate rude or aggressive behaviour towards our staff. Please remember that our Reception staff are acting on the instruction of the GPs.
Non-urgent advice: Prescriptions for 35 minor conditions are no longer available in Dorset
In line with NHS England recommendations, NHS Dorset has asked GP teams to stop prescribing medicine and treatment for 35 minor conditions. This allows GPs to focus on caring for people who have more complex needs.
